This tier list ranks Supermarket Chaos skill upgrades based on community feedback, efficiency math over 4,668 placements, and launch-week gameplay data. Rankings assume a standard playthrough without skill tree bugs — if your tree is empty, fix that first via our troubleshooting guide.
S Tier — Buy Immediately
Carrying Capacity Tier 1–2: The single highest-impact upgrade. Doubling or tripling items per trip cuts total walk distance by half or more. Unlock before your 100th placement if possible.
Movement Speed Tier 1: Pairs with carrying for efficient collection runs. Walk faster between scattered floor items and distant sections like wine and frozen foods.
A Tier — Early Mid Game
Carrying Capacity Tier 3+: Continue investing until you can hold enough items for full section clears. Required for the Too Heavy achievement at ten items.
Search Highlighting Tier 1: First search tier helps identify correct tags in visually busy sections like snacks and canned goods.
Movement Speed Tier 2: Second movement tier pays off when sections span large floor areas.
B Tier — Mid to Late Game
Search Highlighting Tier 2–3: Critical for finding the last dozen misplaced items in a nearly complete store.
Auto-stocking Efficiency Tier 1: Quality of life for placement speed. Buy after core carrying and movement are established.
C Tier — Luxury Upgrades
Auto-stocking Efficiency Tier 2+: Marginal gains over tier 1. Only purchase with excess coins near completion.
Movement Speed Max Tiers: Diminishing returns when the store is mostly organized and remaining items cluster nearby.
